The NBA Finals has finally come to an end and we are here to give our analysis on the results…

Abideen: My prediction of the Toronto Raptors winning the NBA Finals was correct. I did not expect them to have to go to six games but they got the job done regardless. Kyle Lowry came out the gate going 5-5 from the field. Pascal Siakam, Kawhi Leonard, Fred VanVleet, and Serge Ibaka also contributed to the win with them all scoring double-digits. Siakim had 26 points, Leonard had 22 points, Lowry had 26 points, Ibaka had 15 points, and VanVleet had 22 points. The Raptors stuck it out for six games and did not give up when facing the reigning champions. They were the underdogs going into the Finals but were able to take the better team down, even being up 3-1. Kawhi came a long way after overcoming a season-ending injury last year to now becoming a champion of a team in one year. I had faith the Raptors were going to win because of Kawhi’s dominance in the playoffs and the improvement of all the role players.

RJ: My prediction was wrong as the Warriors lost the series in six games.  I predicted the Warriors were going to win because on paper they have the best roster ever.  A big factor in the Warriors defeat is injuries. Arguably the best player in the world, Kevin Durant was injured. Kevin Durant returned in game 5 for only a quarter before injuring his achilles and having to be helped off the court.  Just Durant’s presence on the court changed the Raptors defensive scheme which helped Golden State win that game. In game 6 Klay Thompson who has proven many times that he is one of the best shooters ever was injured on a fast break while he was arguably playing the best basketball on the floor.  If it were not for the many injuries that the Warriors faced they would have won the series in 7 games.
