The 21-year-old former Auburn standout won the 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota, finishing at 25-under par and beating the field by three shots, including world number one Scottie Scheffler.

The total purse for the 2026 3M Open sat at $8.8 million, and Koivun claimed the standard winner’s share of 18 percent.
A win that few saw coming this fast
What makes the payday even more striking is the context. This was only Koivun’s third start as a professional. He turned pro recently, stepped onto one of the PGA Tour’s strongest-field events of the summer, and produced one of the most dominant performances of the season.
His Saturday round set the tone. Koivun posted a 10-under 61 to build a three-shot lead heading into Sunday, then closed with a 5-under 66 to make sure no one got close. Scheffler, the top-ranked player in the world, finished three back in second place.
