After the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in Parkland, Florida earlier in February, students organized walkouts to commemorate those lost to gun violence. Today’s walkout was planned to coincide with the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High School mass shooting which occurred on April 20, 2018. Students registered new voters and assembled care kits for the homeless in the spirit of Columbine’s request for a day of service.
